Founded in 2005, Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) is a non-profit organization based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. JWOC’s mission is to work in partnership with Cambodian youth to fulfill their potential in education, employment, and sustainable development of their society.

Communications & Fundraising Coordinator

Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Schedule: This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week from 8am-5pm (Sunday – Thursday) plus some schedule adjustments for donor interactions in other time zones.
Starting Salary: $600-$800 USD (monthly)
Bonus: Performance Based
Misc: Open to all nationalities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, and fundraising.
  • Some experience in non-profit fundraising.
  • Grant lifecycle experience in research, applications, and reporting.
  • Excellent skills in problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and facilitation.
  • High level English proficiency (both written and oral).
  • Experience using DonorSnap, Constant Contact, Facebook Business, and Benevity or similar tools.
  • Experience in paid media (Facebook Ads, Google Ads) and ads for non-profits is a plus.

About the job

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to empower Cambodian youth and grow the impact of Journeys Within Our Community’s (JWOC) through our Communications & Fundraising Coordinator role.

In this role the candidate will develop annual fundraising strategy and carrying out its execution. This will include engaging with multiple teams, donors, partners, and fundraising channels to drive the success of the organization.  The candidate will also be responsible for writing grant proposals to secure alternative sources of funding while actively coordinating events and activities related to fundraising.

Responsibilities

  1. Work directly with the Managing Director, JWOC Board of Directors, and staff members to develop and implement an annual program and fundraising strategy to meet financial goals.
  2. Communicate fundraising goals throughout the organization.  Engage staff and board members to meet or exceed goals.
  3. With Managing Director, report on fundraising progress and effectiveness to the leadership team and present quarterly updates to the board.
  4. Oversee donation and communication tools, including data entry and maintaining system updates.
  5. Supervise the communications team.  Ensure the team maintains regular communication channels, including website, social media, annual reports, newsletters.  Ensure information materials are actively up to date and effective.
  6. Research, apply, and report on grants to support JWOC’s programs.

Design & Tech Support Officer

About the job

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to empower Cambodian youth and grow the impact of Journeys Within Our Community’s (JWOC) through our Design & Tech Support Officer role.

In this role the candidate will contribute designing and building content for the JWOC website and social media accounts for the purpose of fundraising, communications and raising awareness about JWOC’s work in Cambodia to a variety of audiences. The candidate will also provide basic technological support to the JWOC staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with the Communications & Fundraising Coordinator to develop an annual content creation plan and related KPIs (key performance indicators) that measure the impact of outreach.
  2. Take the lead in designing content and material for JWOC marketing, fundraising and communication purposes as required in a timely fashion with high standards. This includes photography, filming, editing videos and productions.
  3. Distribute content and manage JWOC social media accounts and website ensuring they are active, up to date and well maintained.
  4. Ensure correspondence and engagements with audiences are updated and well-tracked.
  5. Analyze and provide regular reports on the impact of outreach.
  6. Provide technological support to the JWOC team and support in fundraising activities as required.
