Founded in 2005, Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) is a non-profit organization based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. JWOC’s mission is to work in partnership with Cambodian youth to fulfill their potential in education, employment and sustainable development of their society. We are looking to add another passionate staff member to the team through the position of Employment and Wellbeing Coordinator.
Employment and Wellbeing Coordinator
Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Schedule: Fulltime in Including Sunday (Day off: Friday-Saturday)
Starting Salary: 380-450 USD (based on experience)
Key duties:
- Coordinate the Placement Process: Oversee the placement of students in employment or internship
opportunities, while building and maintaining relationships with employers - Facilitate Events: Organize events related to youth careers, health, and well-being sessions.
- Ensure Staff Competence: Ensure that staff and associates under supervision are qualified and
effectively fulfill their roles. - Support Career Guidance Activities: Assist supervised staff in planning and facilitating career
guidance sessions, speaking events, and related activities to enhance students’ employment opportunities
in Cambodia. - Mentoring Coordination: Collaborate with the mentoring committee and student mentors to ensure
high-quality mentoring sessions are delivered across all JWOC programs. - Recruitment Support: Assist the Program Manager in staff recruitment when assigned, and support
supervised staff in planning and leading the annual student recruitment process for all programs. - Reporting: Provide updates and reports to the Program Manager as required.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Program Manager.
About the job
We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to empower Cambodian youth and grow the impact of Journeys Within Our Community’s (JWOC) through our Communications & Fundraising Coordinator role.
In this role the candidate will develop annual fundraising strategy and carrying out its execution. This will include engaging with multiple teams, donors, partners, and fundraising channels to drive the success of the organization. The candidate will also be responsible for writing grant proposals to secure alternative sources of funding while actively coordinating events and activities related to fundraising.
Requirement:
- Graduate or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field
- Experience in teaching or leading training/workshops on various topics, preferably in Career
Preparation - Experience with reporting
- Strong leadership skills, with critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication
- Experience in coordinating or facilitating events and/or youth activities
- Proficient in English with some knowledge of technology
- Detail-oriented, friendly, outgoing, and confident
- Able to work in a team that values quality and welcomes new ideas
- Available to work on Sundays as part of the schedule (with Fridays and Saturdays as days off)
