My name is Neth. I live in Siem Reap city, but I’m originally from Kampong Cham province, which is about 250km from Siem Reap. I moved here after I graduated high school at the end of 2015.

Before I became a scholarship student at JWOC, I was an English Free Classes student. Then I heard about the scholarship announcement and decided to apply. It was such a great day not only for me but also my family when I got to know that I was selected for an interview and finally I could get the scholarship from JWOC.

My major is International Relations and I am in Year 3. I chose this major because I love communicating and working with people internationally. In the future, I want to be a director at NGOs that work in the education sector because I see that my community needs to improve the quality of education. I want to be a part of providing this, especially children and youth because they are the future leaders of the country.

Being a scholarship student at JWOC, I not only get a great opportunity to read my dream and goal of continuing my education at University, but also I could learn more skills as JWOC provides all scholarship students workshops, training and work experience to build up their ability to become strong people. I have learned and trained to build up my leadership, communication and other 21st century skills.

I would say that I’m glad to be a part of supporting my community while I am studying. I know I will have many things to do after I graduate. I believe I will become an empowered woman who can be a leader to support my community, to be a part of making a better change for Cambodia and the world.
